Por qué te encantará

Los detalles completos del viaje están en inglés. Pregúntanos lo que quieras en español.

Umbwe is short, steep and direct — the hardest way up Kilimanjaro. Because it gains height so fast, there is little time to acclimatise, and very few people use it. The forest is wild and the trail is almost empty.

We are honest with every climber: Umbwe is only for very strong, experienced hikers who know how their body handles altitude. For most people we suggest another route. If you are sure, we will look after you every step of the way.

  • The most direct line to the summit
  • Very quiet — few climbers choose it
  • Wild cloud forest and dramatic ridges
  • For strong, experienced hikers only

Ruta: Moshi – Umbwe Gate – Cave Bivouac – Barranco – Karanga – Barafu – Uhuru Peak – Mweka

Preguntas

Preguntas sobre este viaje

Should I choose Umbwe?

Only if you are a very strong hiker who has been to high altitude before. The fast climb leaves little time to acclimatise, so the success rate is lower than on longer routes. If you are not sure, choose Machame or Lemosho.
