You can join in singing and dancing with the Chaga people as they grind, roast, and boil the beans. To conclude the experience, you’ll be treated to a traditional Chagga meal prepared by the villagers.

    Pick-up from Hotel in Moshi or Kilimanjaro Airport

    The tour begins with a pick-up from your hotel in Moshi or Kilimanjaro Airport by your guide and safari vehicle. Enjoy a scenic 45-minute drive from Moshi to Materuni Village, located at the base of Mount Kilimanjaro.

    Scenic Walk to Materuni Waterfall

    upon arriving at Materuni Village, you will be introduced to the area’s rich history and local culture before embarking on a scenic walk through the lush surroundings. The path to the waterfall offers beautiful views of the natural landscape and local farms, where you’ll see crops like avocados, mangos, lemons, and bananas growing. After about 45 minutes, you’ll reach the stunning Materuni Waterfall, where you can take in the breathtaking scenery and relax by the natural pool, with the option to cool off in the refreshing water.

    Visit the Coffee Farm and Traditional Chagga Lunch

    Continue the tour by visiting a local coffee plantation where you will learn about the coffee farming process. Participate in the traditional preparation of coffee, from bean to cup, and join the Chaga people in singing and dancing. Enjoy a delicious Chagga meal served by the villagers, made with fresh, local ingredients.

    Depart Materuni Village

    After lunch, say your goodbyes to the villagers and start your return journey to Moshi or Kilimanjaro Airport. Depending on your timetable, you can either be dropped off at your hotel in Moshi or Kilimanjaro Airport for your onward journey.
