1. Jour 1Lake Manyara National Park

   Below the steep wall of the Great Rift Valley, Lake Manyara mixes groundwater forest, open floodplain and a soda lake. Look for baboons, elephants, hippos, flamingos and the park's famous tree-climbing lions.

2. Jour 2Into the Serengeti

   Via Olduvai Gorge (3–4 hours) into the Serengeti for an evening game drive.

3. Jour 3Serengeti to the Ngorongoro Highlands

   An early sunrise game drive, then an afternoon transfer to the highlands.

4. Jour 4Ngorongoro Crater

   An early descent of about 600 m to the crater floor — a sealed world of grassland, swamp and soda lake that holds one of the densest gatherings of wildlife in Africa, including the rare black rhino. Picnic lunch by the hippo pool, then the drive back to Moshi.
