1. Jour 1Tarangire National Park

   About three hours from Moshi you enter Tarangire, the park of giants: huge herds of elephants and ancient baobab trees along the Tarangire River, the only water for miles in the dry season. Game drives and a picnic lunch in the park.

2. Jour 2Ngorongoro Crater

   A morning drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and down onto the crater floor: lions, black rhinos, flamingos, buffalo and more. Overnight at Angata Ngorongoro Camp or a lodge in Mto wa Mbu.

3. Jour 3Lake Manyara and return

   About 60 km by tarmac road to Lake Manyara National Park for a game drive — flamingos, hippos and, with luck, tree-climbing lions — then back to Arusha or the airport.
