Overview
Begin your 3-day Mikumi safari with a hotel or ferry pickup in Dar es Salaam, then enjoy a 1.5-hour SGR train ride to Morogoro. Upon arrival, transfer to Mikumi National Park for a half-day game drive in an open 4×4 jeep, ending at sunset. Spend the night at a comfortable lodge. Day 2 features a full-day safari exploring the park’s rich wildlife. On Day 3, after breakfast, return to Morogoro for your scenic train ride back to Dar es Salaam where the client opt to be left.
Itinerary
Your adventure begins with a personalized pickup from the location you’ve provided, followed by a comfortable transfer to the SGR train station for your scenic journey to Morogoro. Upon arrival, our professional and friendly driver will meet you and escort you to Mikumi National Park. At the park gate, you’ll hop into one of our custom 4x4 open safari jeeps and begin your first game drive. Enjoy a delicious lunch before heading out for a 4–5 hour guided safari, where you’ll explore the diverse landscapes and spot a variety of wildlife, including elephants, giraffes, zebras, and more. As the sun sets over the savannah, you’ll be transferred to a cozy lodge or hotel for a relaxing evening, where you can unwind and prepare for a full day of exploration on Day 2.
Your day begins with a hearty breakfast prepared fresh at the hotel to fuel you for a full day of adventure. Shortly after, you’ll depart for a full-day game drive, with wildlife sightings often starting even before reaching the park gate. Spend the day exploring the vast plains and rich ecosystems of Mikumi National Park, home to elephants, lions, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, and more. Our knowledgeable guides will take you through different areas of the park, offering insights and opportunities for incredible wildlife photography. Short breaks will be provided within the park for relaxation and refreshments. As the sun begins to set, you’ll be driven back to your hotel or lodge for a peaceful second night of rest, reflecting on the unforgettable sights and sounds of the African wilderness.
On the final day of your safari adventure, enjoy a relaxing breakfast at the hotel as you prepare for your journey back to Dar es Salaam. Guests will have the option to add a unique cultural experience by visiting a nearby Maasai village. This enriching two-hour tour offers a glimpse into the traditions, lifestyle, and heritage of one of Tanzania’s most iconic tribes—an unforgettable way to end your journey. If you prefer a more direct return, you may choose to head straight to the Morogoro train station after breakfast. From there, enjoy a comfortable and scenic train ride back to Dar es Salaam, reflecting on the memories, wildlife encounters, and cultural insights gained during your time with us. Whichever option you choose, your experience ends with a heart full of wonder and stories to tell.
