Northern Circuit Route 9 Days

Overview

Why you will love it

The Northern Circuit is the newest and longest route on Kilimanjaro. It starts in the west, shares its first days with Lemosho, then turns north near the Lava Tower and circles the wild, almost empty northern slopes before reaching the summit from the east.

The nine-day climb adds an extra night at Shira 2. It is the most patient way to climb Kilimanjaro, giving you the best acclimatisation and the highest chance of reaching Uhuru Peak.

  • The most time to acclimatise on any route
  • Extra night on the Shira Plateau
  • Wild northern slopes with views to Kenya
  • The highest summit success rate
  • Peace and quiet almost all the way

Route: Moshi – Londorossi Gate – Mti Mkubwa – Shira 1 – Shira 2 – Moir – Buffalo – Third Cave – School Hut – Uhuru Peak – Mweka Gate
